Amna Ansari ’12 and Marcus Martinez ’12, co-founders of Alloybuild, won an Honorable Mention/‘Best Unique City Infrastructure’ for their entry ‘Float House’ at reGEN Boston; they also presented their research ‘Shuffle City’ at the Architecture Boston Expo in November.

Ann Beha ’75 reports that her firm Ann Beha Architects has been selected by the US Department of State to do a major rehabilitation of the chancery facility and campus at the US Embassy in Athens, Greece; the firm has worked on over a dozen historic landmarks, as well as on more than forty sites either listed on the National Register of Historic Places or located in National Register Districts.

Jill Magid ’00 has been named a Fellow of the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at The New School in New York; a visual artist and writer, she will work on The Barragán Archives for her fellowship project – an extended, multimedia examination of the legacy of Mexican architect and Pritzker Prize-winner Luis Barragán (1902-1988).

Julie Moir Messervy ’78 collaborated with cellist Yo-Yo Ma to create the Toronto Music Garden at Hempstead House on Long Island, a 1912 Tudor-style mansion, as part of a designers’ showcase; the design was inspired by the first of Bach’s cello suites and includes streamers finger-painted by children as they listened to that music.

Paige Parsons ’90 is profiled in Slice of Life. She has photographed Bono and Bjork, Green Day, Guns & Roses, Madonna and Morrissey.

William Rawn ’79 Associates has been chosen to take on a $16M renovation of the Johnson Building of the Boston Public Library; Rawn has done the Cambridge Public Library, as well as the Mattapan and East Boston branches of the Boston Public Library, and uses glass and light liberally in his designs.

Jamie Zigelbaum ’08 has opened a new enterprise in New York, the Jamie Zigelbaum Studio. His recent artwork Pixel was the second-highest seller at the first auction of digital art from the Phillips auction house; he was also featured in the October 20 Design Issue of T Magazine.
