The Student Art Association provides instruction and studio experience in the arts at the novice and intermediate levels in an extensive range of media. The program is designed for MIT students, though all MIT affiliates may participate as space permits. Sign up to develop or refine your art in an open, hands-on, relaxed environment.
General SAA Policies
The studios are open 24 hours a day, every day, through the term. You are free to use the space as long as another class is not in session. Please check the studio hours before arriving.
Classes are offered during Fall (10 classes ), IAP (4) , Spring (10), and Summer (8 classes). Most classes meet once per week. Pre-registration is required as some classes will fill, and it takes up to two weeks to activate your ID card for studio access.
Some classes may be canceled due to under-enrollment. In this instance, a full refund will be made.
Although some materials may be provided, and the studios are open to all members, we ask that one use a reasonable approach in terms of material use, studio use, and help maintain a safe and clean studio environment.
If you have questions about any of these policies or the classes, please email Sam Magee at saahelp@mit.edu or sammagee@mit.edu.
