2017 Graduate Arts Soirée

The MIT Grad Arts Forum, a group that encourages artistic collaboration and intellectual discussions among MIT graduate students from different departments, invited the greater Boston community to the 8th Annual Graduate Arts Soirée on March 25, 2017. This event was one of a series of three forums each term that promote and engage students interested in the arts at MIT through presentations, discussions and social gatherings at arts venues.

In celebrating the end of the semester, students from across the Institute enjoyed artwork by their fellow students, a live jazz band and private access to the MIT List Visual Arts Center galleries at the Soirée. The range of student-created artwork on display revealed a discernible population of MIT students, who, despite their varied and seemingly disparate academic pursuits, share an interest in the arts. As always, this year’s Soirée was an important reminder of MIT’s commitment to the intersection of art, science and technology.
