CAMIT’s Faculty Resources

Take your students to an artistic event in the Greater Boston area! The Council for the Arts at MIT subsidizes a limited number of tickets for classes to experience a play, concert, show, or exhibition that is part of course curricula.

Please note: there is a separate process for Music and Theater Arts faculty requesting tickets. MTA faculty may contact Alexa Torres at for more details.

The Council for the Arts at MIT offers up to $1000 in funding support for faculty to invite practicing artists as guest speakers to their course. This fund is intended to cover travel, lodging, and a $250 honorarium for a one-time artist visit.

Please note: this program is intended to bring artists to campus for brief visits and should not be used as a substitute for or a supplement to artist residencies with CAST or other programs.

CAMIT underwrites memberships for MIT faculty, staff, and students at Boston-area art museums including the MFA, ICA, and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. CAMIT also supports MIT’s BSO College Card program, which allows students to reserve free tickets to select BSO performances throughout the year. MIT students may purchase a College Card for $7.00 at MIT CopyTech in building 11-004.
