Since its inception in 2012, the MIT Center for Art, Science & Technology (CAST) has been the catalyst for nearly 150 artist residencies and collaborative projects with MIT faculty and students, including numerous cross-disciplinary courses, workshops, concert series, multimedia projects, lectures and symposia. The visiting artists program is a cornerstone of CAST’s activities, which encourages cross-fertilization among disciplines and intensive interaction with MIT’s faculty and students.

 

BETWEEN 2012-20:

  • 145+ MIT faculty members representing all five schools have collaborated with CAST (see list of partners)

  • 6,800+ students enrolled in classes or participated in a workshop, symposium, or performance

  • 170 grants awarded

  • 35+ collaborative projects have appeared in international festivals or exhibitions
