About the Project
The MIT Animation Group (MITAG) was founded in 2016 to provide opportunities for students to learn about and create animated films. The group’s first film, An Extra Dimension, had its official premiere at the Lecture Series Committee (LSC) in early November 2017, and premiered on Vimeo November 11, 2017. In spring 2018, MITAG launched AniMIThon, an animated short film competition for animators throughout the Northeast.
In 2019, MITAG was rebranded as DAAMIT: Digital Art and Animation at MIT. DAAMIT is a community for digital artists of all kinds, including illustrators, 3D artists, and animators.
