FA24 Tuesday Intermediate Drawing

Day/Time: 10 Tuesdays starting September 17, 6:30 – 9:00 pm

There is no class November 26.

Location: MIT Arts Studios, W20-425

Instructor: Timothy Lee

A black and white ink drawing of a face with many small black and white images collaged within the face. To the right of the face, the paper is covered in gold leaf.

As a continuation of the topics and skills covered in Introduction to Drawing, this intermediate course dives deeper into the techniques of the drawing medium and explores the contemporary discourse of this expanded field. Students will be introduced to drawing in color, working with the human figure, and working on a larger scale, and there is an emphasis on the development of a personal style. It is strongly recommended that students join the class after taking Introduction to Drawing, as this class will not cover basic skills in values, proportions, and rendering techniques.
