SP18 Thursday Printmaking-The Art of Monotype

A print is a work of art made by transferring pigment from one surface (the plate or digital print) onto a second surface (paper). In this workshop based class students will learn how to use the printing press and both water and oil based inks to create individual images called monotypes.

Emphasis is given on helping each student develop a personal knowledge of the process encompassing the student’s own way of making art.

Students provide their own printmaking paper; other materials will be discussed during the first class.

This class meets 8 Thursdays starting February 22 from 6:30-9:30pm in the 2D Studio (W20-425) and is taught by Thery Mislick.
