SP26 Thursday Intermediate Photography Workshop

Day/Time: Thursday, February 19, 8:00–9:00pm; Thursday, April 2 8:00–9:00pm; and TBD final critique date. Other dates scheduled based on student interest.

Prerequisites: This course is for intermediate and advanced students who have prior digital photography experience and/or darkroom experience developing film and making prints. It does not have regular class meetings. Students may take this course more than once. Completion of a MIT W20 Art Studios digital or darkroom photography course or permission of the instructor is required, and completion of a MIT W20 Art Studios darkroom course is required for access to the darkroom. Please contact the instructor if you’re unsure whether you have the prerequisite experience.

Equipment and Materials: 35mm, 120, and 4×5 format cameras will be available for check-out to students on a weekly check-out basis if they are not in use by an introductory class. Digital camera checkout may be possible, but availability is not guaranteed. Students must provide their own film and paper. Darkroom chemistry and access to digital editing and printing workstations are provided.

Additional sessions for demos for advanced darkroom techniques or equipment usage may be scheduled based on interest.
