This course is designed to assist intermediate and intermediate plus students looking to improve their throwing technique and take on new and more challenging forms. Students will be supported through a combination of thematic projects appropriate to the group.

We will begin the class by identifying points of interest and challenge for the group. Projects will be developed from that conversation. Instructor demonstrations will cover wheel-thrown utilitarian objects of different sizes and styles, as well as some surface decorating techniques. This class is suitable for intermediate and intermediate plus students, though beginners are welcome to attend.

Tuition for ceramics classes includes a materials fee that helps cover the cost of clay, glazes, and firing.

*Students must purchase their own 8 piece (minimum) pottery tool kit for class, available online and at Blick Art in Central Square.

Tuition and Fees:
MIT Undergraduate + Graduate Students $165 | MIT Faculty, Staff, Spouses, Alumni $315 | Materials Fee: $25
