Course supplies: You will need to supply your own film and paper.
Course prerequisites: Previous SAA Photo experience.

Independent Study in Photography requires previous SAA photo experience for a full length term (not IAP) without exception.  Use of the SAA darkroom, including equipment and selected chemicals for black-and-white film developing and printing is provided.  Color use is not included.  Students supply film and paper.  The expectation for the Independent Studio user is that they aid in maintaining the studio and assist in mixing chemicals.

There are no formal meetings for this class except for orientation which is scheduled directly with the studio manager and required for darkroom access.  The course fee covers unlimited individual access to the darkroom and studio except during scheduled class times.  Independent study provides an excellent opportunity for you to focus on an idea or project and move it forward.

MIT undergraduate and graduate students $125 | All other MIT affiliations $225
