FA16 Wednesday Intro to B&W Analog Photography

“For me, the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity.”  -Henri Cartier-Bresson

Black and white analog photography is a fun and classic medium to work with. During the semester students will learn the process of taking successful photographs (with a 35mm analog camera) as well as how to use the black and white darkroom. Different photographers will be look to for visual inspiration and technique. In addition to traditional negatives, students will have the opportunity to make their own non-traditional negative using transparencies.

*NOTE: Students do not need to own a camera to take the class, however the SAA camera supply is somewhat limited and is first come first served (on the first day of class).
