Explore the basics of clothing construction by creating a simple garment such as a tank top, skirt, or sweatshirt. Learn to use a sewing machine and serger, explore principles of fit, customize basic patterns, and make finish modifications. This class is intended for beginners interested in building a foundation; but more experienced sewists are also welcome and encouraged to bring their ideas.

The Voxel Lab space will be available for students for the duration of the course; plan to spend time outside of class working on your projects if possible. Plain grey sweatshirt fabric and binding will be available; other materials will be provided by students. Thrifted garments or old clothes can be cut apart and used as fabric, please contact the instructors if you have questions.
