The SAA provides extra-academic, hands-on instruction and studio experience in the arts for all levels in a range of media.

Priority registration is given to MIT undergraduate and graduate students, though all MIT affiliates on MIT Covid Pass may participate as space permits. Sign up to develop or refine your art in an open, hands-on, relaxed environment.

W20 Update February 17 2023

MIT students received an email from Suzy Nelson and Joe Higgins with updates about the student center, including the news that the fourth floor will not reopen until August.

  • Ceramics classes are canceled and refunds will be issued starting next week.
  • 2D and photo classes have been relocated; please see course pages for more information.
  • All personal belongings must be removed from the SAA-we cannot store anything during the cleanup and renovation.  Please use this form to sign up for an escorted timed entry on Wednesday, February 22 or Thursday, February 23 to retrieve your supplies and artwork.  Everything must go.
