“For me, the camera is a sketchbook, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity.” ~Henri Cartier-Bresson
Black and white analog photography is a fun and classic medium to work with. During the semester students will learn the process of taking successful analog photographs (with a 35 mm manual analog camera) and will learn how to use the SAA’s black and white darkroom. We will study different photographers for visual inspiration and techniques.
*NOTE: Owning a camera is NOT a requirement of this class. However, the SAA camera supply is somewhat limited and is first come first serve (on the first day of class).
Materials will be discussed the first day of class and are not needed until the third class meeting
