This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the tools and processes of drawing. Students will engage in a multitude of drawing methodologies that explore mark-making in a
representational and abstract context. Through a series of sequential exercises, students will strengthen their technical skills, sharpen their eye, increase hand-eye coordination, and gain
confidence in their drawing abilities. This course is open to all interested in drawing.
Required Materials:
18×24 newsprint paper
18×24 strathmore drawing paper
Vine Charcoal
Compressed Charcoal
White Conte crayon
Kneadable Eraser
Pencils (HB and 4B)
A sketchbook for daily use is optional but recommended
Materials can be purchased at Artist and Craftsman Supply and Blick Art, both in Central Square.
