My Onliness

Daniel Irizarry’s critically-acclaimed production of My Onliness, originally presented at New Ohio Theatre in Manhattan’s West Village, will be staged at the prestigious Sibiu International Theater Festival in June 2025.

Presented with fully integrated American Sign Language, My Onliness is a fable/cabaret/circus about a Mad King’s desperate attempt to impress a mysterious petitioner. Laced with songs of torture, truth, and tenderness, the piece features sexy, visceral, dark buffoonery, and is an homage to Stanisław Witkacy and his theories of “pure theatre.”

Daniel Irizarry is a Puerto Rican-born International Experimental Theatre director, performer and educator based in NYC. His work embraces highly stylized and visceral acting, pataphysics, a profound celebration of GERMS, and communion with the audience through consent. He is the Artistic Director of One-Eighth Theater and Lecturer at MIT Music & Theatre Arts.
